It seemed no matter how hard Harley tried, her past always managed to catch up with her. More specifically, the Wall always caught up to her, and while Harls had escaped from her clutches time and time again, the US government wasn't keen on having her go solo and seemed to prefer having her under Amanda Waller's careful eye.
Which lead to her once again joining the docket of Task Force X, or as her and her fellow cons called it, the Suicide Squad. Another day, another mission, another empty promise to be let go or have a reduced sentence if they didn't die. The usual status quo for the ragtag team of killers and villains.
Today's mission was fairly straightforward-- get in, get the target, and bring them back dead or alive. Of course, their missions never seemed to be as straightforward as Waller made them out to be, mostly since she left out crucial details for the sake of 'national security'. After all, what did she care if the information could be handy for the mission? Worse case they were killed and replaced, and if they were caught they wouldn't be able to spill the beans before she blew their heads off using the nano bombs implanted in their necks.
The ground team had split up to search the building, Harley starting on the ground floor. The building seemed to be a research facility of some sort; what their were researching, however, Harley wasn't sure. The place was admittedly a bit eerie, especially in the dark. Harley peered into the rooms as she passed by, her flashlight casting ominous shadows across the walls as strange equipment blocked the light. Thankfully, Harley didn't spook easy-- she had been through far worse, and her paranoia kept her on edge for whatever may pop out of her; she was always prepared for a fight.
That's why she approached the sound of footsteps from the corridor up ahead. She hoisted her mallet up over her shoulder, getting ready to swing as she silently crept down the hall, before peering over the corner. She could make out a faint figure in the darkness, seeming to be walking away from her. " Who are you? " the clownette hissed, eyes narrowed and stance ready to fight. Usually she wouldn't give anyone the chance to get the drop on her, however, the last thing she wanted to do was attack her teammate on accident.
